Hello, the new arrows make it confusing and crowded. I want only the one arrow that says the best move. If I toggle 'best move arrow' it either keeps all the arrows, including the extraneous ones, or turns them all off, including the good one.

Yes, at least have the choice to use them or not.
I REALLY like the new arrows, because in a single position, you see all at once what inaccuracy/mistake/blunder was played, and what was the best move instead. No more need to move between next and previous move to get the full picture.

Is it really necessary? I can't understand anything with the arrows on anymore.

I think you've misunderstood how the new arrows work. They have nothing to do with evaluation/engine, they are just pointing out what variations you have recorded, no matte how bad/good the move.
Purple = mainline move
Pink = variations
Third one is engine recommendation.
Basically, the idea is to help you to keep focus on the board at all times. Now, without looking at the annotations, you can see which move you (if it was your game) played, what other lines you had looked at and what eval recommendation is.
In any case, devs are still working on this and the thing will be refined.
They aren't very colour blind friendly that's for sure!
yes yess pleez make an option to disable it,i just seen it and i lose my mind.it ruins my analyze board and my beautiful game and even my life.i cant unsee it now. everywhere i look is purple arrow...
For me it works to turn on Zen mode (hit "z"), go through some moves and turn Zen mode off again. No more purple arrows on the analysis board and it works like before. Of course, it is no permanent solution and probably more a bug, not a feature :)
Edit: Just realized. No need to make moves. Just hit "z "twice.
Wait... so now other than blue, orange, red, and orange arrows, there are pink and purple arrows? What's next, rainbow arrow? Horsey arrow??? Minecraft arrow????? ROBLOX ARROW???????????
