Option to turn off new arrows

Seriously what were they thinking? The purple arrows now break everything else that used to be great.

1. For example, during analysis mode mousing over the moves in opening explorer without clicking them used to show an arrow on the board to indicate the moves you are hovering over, a great way to see many moves quickly. Now they dont appear anymore.

2. It discourages experimentation and adds to the confusion during analysis of correspondence games. A big purple arrow shows for whatever move you played first and keeps distracting you from looking at other moves. Other purple arrows only show for moves you experiment with on the board, while opening book moves only appear as arrows when you play them.

So now you constantly have to delete the first move you tried to stop making it show up because it is usually not the best move.
And yet still, hovering the mouse over a book move in opening explorer does not show an arrow on the board like it used to, while all other garbage moves you tried litter the whole board unless you delete them one by one. Terrible!

So: a) Bring back arrows for hovering over opening book moves.
b) On/Off button for purple arrows
I agree, that the on/off button would be great, for these purple arrows specifically. And to keep a separate button for the engine line arrows.

I don't understand the idea behind the new arrows, but I know other users might find them useful. So it would be great if people could decide what they prefer.
I did find out a hack to make TWO purple arrows.
Just draw a orange or yellow line under the pink one and it makes purple!

Although I do really hate this idea for new arrows.

Lichess is getting too fancy. In 2021 (about when I registered) there wasn't voice recognition, pink + purple arrows, or even the colors for the annotations! And that's just 2 years!

What are they gonna add next? Animated 3D chess pieces floating across the board?
please make a option to remove arrows. or add them. some of us would like to not have the arrows. thank you
> Seriously what were they thinking?

The goal was to allow you to navigate variations without taking your eyes off the board.

That wasn't intentional - it sounds like another bug.
It's now showing these arrows in my interactive lessons in studies when I get an answer wrong. It defeats the purpose of the study because it tells me the answer when I get it wrong instead of letting me try again.

Good thing Hikaru streams on chess.com, or he'd be out of a job!
The purple arrows are the worst please make them stop, I dont want to analyze games anymore they are horribly distracting!
I appreciate the effort that goes into continuously improving lichess, but the new arrows do not work for me. I do not like the color scheme and for me they do not solve a problem I was experiencing.
I'll just chime in to bump this one. Completely agree, please let us turn these new arrows off lichess!
