Why do I suck at blitz?

Play 5 minute blitz games and count down slowly to three on every move. At three, make the best move you see at that moment.

The quality of the moves and the result of the game is irrelevant. It is only relevant that you dont use more than 5 seconds per move. Do this until you learned to manage the time.

This method has been suggested by GMs. It has been reported that people using this method actually won more games and gained a rating rise. This is because in critical positions at a later stage of the game they had more time.
selfmate your method sounds logical and practical for blitz! where did you read this??
Little analysis on time.
A 5+0 game you get 300 seconds. Average game is 30 moves, therefore allot 10 seconds per move. You play 1 second bullet for your first 10 moves, which will leave you with 15 seconds/move for the last 20 moves (290/20=14.5).

i read this once in a book by an GM who suggested this to his students and also to some IMs and GM friends. Unfortunately i dont know his name or the name of the book any more.

A similar rule was used by GM Salov, who was part of the top GM circle in the ninties (highest rating 2715). He called it the "three minute rule": In long time OTB games he would not think more than three minutes on a move. Mark Dvoretzky called it a good method to train time management.
addon: the GM book author also suggested a weird method to punish one self when one disobeyed the rule: to tear money. Haha. Well, i wouldnt do that, but for dudes who wont learn it, it may be a working method...
