Request: New Rating Category For Long Games (30+)

I'm gently requesting a new rating category for 30+ time controls, as this is what most users have agree about.

Why:

In Lichess, we have 3 rating categories based on the time control, but they all very short. How about real chess? It doesn't make much sense to establish a rating by playing longer games (like 60+0) then play a 10+0 tournament, which will quickly flush away your long game rating.

Seems like a catch-22: we can't know that a separate rating category would be popular because it isn't yet implemented. :-(
I like the idea of it, but would like there to be 3 categories. Not sure how to solve that problem. I like playing 15-30m chess and don't like how 8m is in the same category.

On the other hand I also like how 10m is a standard classical tournament. It's fast paced. Many games per hour. It'd be more boring, much slower, for classical tournaments 30+0. Are those tourneys very active?
#4 Here's how I imagine it...
x < 3 minutes: bullet
3 minutes <= x < 8 minutes: blitz
8 minutes <= x < 25 minutes: rapid
25 minutes <= x: classical
(or maybe 20 minutes instead of 25, I don't know)

So...
2+2 is blitz
5+5 is rapid
15+15 is classical

I don't think there are enough games to justify further subdividing classical. I know that 15+15 and 60+60 are different, but not many players play 60+60.

Rairden, 10+0 tournaments would remain and just get renamed, to Rapid Tournaments.

Toadofsky, indeed, games with 30+ time control aren't much popular, but in my opinion that's mostly because we don't have a rating category specific for them. That's why I gave up on playing them, for instance.

This is from Wikipedia regarding FIDE (were standard is > 60):

"Many top chess players do not take rapid, blitz and bullet chess as seriously as chess with standard time controls. Some dismissive quotes from top chess players may serve to illustrate this:"

"Rapid and blitz chess are first of all for enjoyment." - Magnus Carlsen
"Playing rapid chess, one can lose the habit of concentrating for several hours in serious chess. That is why, if a player has big aims, he should limit his rapidplay in favour of serious chess." – Vladimir Kramnik
"Yes, I have played a blitz game once. It was on a train, in 1929." – Mikhail Botvinnik
"He who analyses blitz is stupid." – Rashid Nezhmetdinov
"Blitz chess kills your ideas." – Bobby Fischer
"To be honest, I consider [bullet chess] a bit moronic, and therefore I never play it." – Vladimir Kramnik
"Blitz – it's just a pleasure." – Vladimir Kramnik
"I play way too much blitz chess. It rots the brain just as surely as alcohol." – Nigel Short
"Blitz is simply a waste of time." – Vladimir Malakhov
"[Blitz] is just getting positions where you can move fast. I mean, it's not chess." – Hikaru Nakamura
@EvilChess, to #1, I do support your idea. I think 30+ games should be separated. And, yes, people play them: en.lichess.org/team/lone-wolf-3030 and en.lichess.org/team/lichess4545-league . It happens not very often, of course, but the quality of those games are on completely different level, then more regular rapid-like 15+10 or so. The initial rating for this "long chess" can be installed the same as present classical one, but being provisional, so that people may come to their real level within several games.
Why not adopt the FIDE rating controls (incl. online) for some consistentness`?

Bullet < 3 min
3 min <= Blitz <= 10 min
10 min < Raidplay < 60 min
60 min <= Standard/Classical

Adopting this could be an idea to avoid confusions.

Inc games counts to same category as TIME+60*INC

Now wait a second... are you saying drinking is bad????
I agree about adding the rapid category. For me it should be so:
Bullet: < 3 min
Blitz: 3 - 8 min
Rapid: 8 - 30 min
Classical: 30 - 180 min
