Like the opponent's elo strength can be set from min to max value, it would be nice if the time could also be set as interval, not as single value. E.g. 1-5 min. instead of 3 min.
With this feature, a much broader range of opponents would be available for a game.
But then what would the time control for the game be?
Good point. Every player would have to set a default (preferred time). The time control could be the default value of the black player, should both players happen to search within a range, instead of a single value.
The time control range setting should be an additional control element, so the normal time setting would be the default as black. Should the opponent chose to play with black himself, then the default time would be played as white.
By this feature, a new opponent would be matched in half or a third of the time.
Could be an experimental feature. Wouldn't take much of design change.
