They were clearly testing the limit. The game ended around move 40.

I think you were just running out the moves.
How could a 3+0 game last for 300 moves??? Even if you premove, i don't think that can be possible.

Answer: Yes, lichess declares every game a draw if 300 moves are played without a checkmate.
