I am playing chess for 3 years .My rating is 640 here. How to improve?

You shoul play with professional players but with friendly rounds, and then you can study all the things that they gives to you and then you can use them in your important games.
most of the time i said basic checkmates it was supposed to be basic PIECE checkmates, i forgot that.

It wastes a move. In general you should not move the same piece more than once in the opening (there are exceptions). Instead you should have taken the knight.
>
> 7. Ne7: now you are in trouble because your opponent can play e4 and take control of the center with pawns. They can then use those pawns to attack your pieces and restrict the squares they can move to. You should have been fighting for the center starting from the beginning.

> 13. Nf6: don't retreat the knight, instead play d5. Don't forget, fight for the center! Having a knight on e4 is very powerful so you don't want to retreat if you can avoid it.

> 19.d6 don't forget about your rook! This is very important, look at your opponents bishop. Now they can take your rook.

> The last few moves: you are doing great by taking all of the opponents pieces. However, you can look for checkmates at this point. You had checkmate in 1 move several times. It's good to take a few seconds and figure out how to checkmate the opponent as soon as you can.

Thanks for this valuable advice. Sincerely thanks for your time .
Your rating is 790 now, a 150 point rise in the 2 days since you started this thread. That's a good improvement.

- When your opponent moves, look for what threat(s) he is making.

- When you find a good move look for a better one.

- When you find a way to check, look for other ways that might be better, or might even be checkmate. Tend towards bringing additional pieces into the mating net if you can check with them.

most people never do. You are spreading myths that make people resent the sport and just quit. I just saw a video of supposedly players rated 1000 rated chess.com being made fun of by gotham chess youtube, but they were playing like they were 400's and probably recorded a fake match hoping to get on. Its all lies and fake expectations.

You are either born with great spatial vision, memory and puzzle solving skills, or you are not. There is only so much improvement to be had. coaching, books, all wastes of money.
#36: That's a poor attitude to have, and completely untrue.

Use me as an example

clousems' lichess rapid (then known as blitz) rating, June 3, 2015: 1095 (a little higher than the OP's rating, but still in the bottom quintile of lichess ratings, assuming the rating distributions have remained relatively stable*).
clousems' current lichess rapid rating: 1851, better than roughly 80% of lichess users.

My rating has steadily improved throughout my time on this site.

Have I read some books to improve my game? Yes. Do I believe they really helped? Nope.
I have had exactly one chess lesson. It lasted around 15 minutes.

I am proof that one can improve at chess through sheer experience, repetition, and willpower, natural talent be damned. Will I ever become anything close to a master? Probably not-- I lack the motivation to study the game and the focus to play well the whole time. Can I still improve at the game? Certainly!

EDIT: And, FWIW, the OP is probably the best darn sub-700 player I've seen on this site.
2nd EDIT: ...who has apparently already jumped roughly 200 rating points since creating the topic

It always amazes me just how confidently people can spew disheartening bullshit. Jeez.

No my friend, what is disheartening is telling the guy he will be 1000 rated in no time. You should be telling him not to worry about his rating and just enjoy competitive matchups at his level. Nothing wrong with that. You should be telling him most people never make it to 1000 because that is the real truth. Because of people claiming otherwise, most people don't even stick with the game.
If you are rated that low, there will be a PATTERN of failure in your games.

So after every game:

- analyze with lichess (stockfish engine)
- note what you did wrong most
-improve from there
-rinse and repeat
