When a player attempts to chat in a game against a player who is in zen mode, a warning message should appear in the chat, something like: "Your opponent is in zen mode, and will not be able to see or respond to the chat during the game." I always use zen mode, and when people try to chat with me I would rather they know this than think I am seeing their messages and ignoring them.
