ChessVision - new application recognizing chess positions in real time

Hi guys,

I recently got involved in a very interesting project. It's called ChessVision and it allows everyone having a mobile phone to scan and analyze chess positions in real time from a video, a chess site like lichess.org, a book and so on.

I want to know what do you guys think about it and how many of you are interested in having ChessVision on your phones.

Visit http://getchessvision.com/?ref=lichess to see how ChessVision works and fill the form there to stay tuned for updates.
Great idea imo. Would make working through chess books much easier, no board required anymore.
@scoreman Thanks for sharing your opinion

What do you think guys about scanning chess positions directly from videos? For me it seems useful to use the app while watching Championships Match 2016
This is a fantastic-looking app for serious chess players everywhere.
And 2nd post is en pointe! When reading books or PDFs of chess strategy, I often have a chessboard with me or I try to work it all out mentally! This app would be a tremendous help.
I think its an awesome idea, if it works well would be a vey hepfull tool

Ps: Reusing lichess app code for the board?
Sounds like a really cool app, I would definately download it. Although i would worry a bit about it being used for cheating.
@roni_chessman Great to hear that!

@TinyKey Glad you like it. Speaking about the board, we indeed used lichess design when creating the one it's one the video. But we're going to implement our own design in the future.

@Raffelsnitch Thanks for sharing your opinion. Btw, of course that cheaters may used it as well as any existing methods they use right now (following moves in an external app and so on), but I think that if our app is helpful for learning, then it's worth to publish it and don't worry about unfair people. Finally, they will be spotted anyway as they always are.
Guys, do you think that there are more hardcore chess players among iOS or Android users?

For now, we're working on iOS version, but perhaps there are a lot Android users interested in it.
