I also feel that choosing color should be for casual games only. another issue aside from those mentioned which I see a lot regarding "white only" players is that they basically never rematch, so you're wasting time finding new searches constantly or clicking on the same person again and again and always playing them with black, which is really lame for a long series of rated games. it's not that only that it distorts ratings, it's a waste of time. yes, I can click on someone else, but when half the seeks are white only, it's a pain to avoid half the players on lichess...
