Etiquette around offering rematch

I always assumed that it is fine to offer someone a rematch if they have lost or to request one if they have won.

Here's a transcript of a conversation I had earlier, which rather blows that out of the water though. The offending person's name has been removed and the obscenities starred.

LOL so no one is giving an opinion either way? :D
As far as I'm aware, its like fight club, there are no rules for re-matches, written or otherwise.
lol. yeah unwritten rule #1. Always be hyper-aware of your opponents delicate ego ... u never heard of this?!
This is ridicolous lol. I always offer my opponents a rematch. Especially if I am white the first game. I have never heard of this unspoken policy and been playing for years.
So the fact that I was 5-0 up might have had an influence?!
#4 named the only rule. i personally don't care at all about whether people give me a rematch or not but you have to be careful out there :o
This isn't etiquette. This is common sense. And if you care about getting insulted by trolls once in a while for doing something that an average person would consider reasonable, you have a bigger thing to worry about.
