New puzzle format

With the new puzzle format can one disable legal move highlighting? "Show board highlights" is set to "No" under preferences but this is ineffectual...also, there needs to be an option to disable coordinates.

OS: Win8.1, ArchLinux
Browsers tested: Chrome, Firefox, Chromium, dwb
No, one cannot at present. But I believe the option will come soon. "Show board highlights" only affects the board library used for regular play, it has no effect for the library currently being tested for puzzles.
In extension to what claymore has said, the board being tested on puzzles will eventually make it's way to the Play UI and bring with it a few -- I think -- really cool features that have been worked on for a significant amount of time.
I've just tried the new puzzle thing and... why do you have to click on a piece to "claim" checkmate?? If you have checkmate, the system doesn't tell you. So I click on a piece to do my next move (I thought I'd missed something), and as soon as I did, the "Victory" thing came up... any explanations?
I noticed this bug as well... from what I understand, it'll be fixed soon.
I'm definitely not a fan. It doesn't feel as responsive, in particular I can't pick up and drag and drop pieces.

Hopefully the new board/pieces will be optional settings that we can toggle, though I don't doubt it will improve.
I didn't notice it as first, but there definitely is a few milliseconds of lag between the mouse position and the piece position while dragging. I'm confident that the code will be optimised in the future, there shouldn't be any need for duplicating the software behind displaying boards.
Can I ask you what hardware you are using? Or if you're running anything graphically intensive at the same time?
When playing on a board, one must know the rules, including which legal moves one has. I'm not sure if it is a good idea to give this information on such a visual clear way while playing.

And I don't like it anyway, so please, if you make it, make it optional.
