Berserking Unstoppability
This blog post is about the first Losers960 Shield ever!If you told me 3 days ago that going full berserk in a 3+2 Arena is really good, I would have told you that its madness. This was disproved yesterday during the First Losers960 Shield Arena, where only 3 people zerked all of their games and all 3 of them reached the podium.
Overview: Step by step
At the start of the tournament, there were no more than 10 people who had joined it. Soon within 30 minutes, I got a secured top place with 31 points and the second place being at 10 points. But the next 45 minutes for me were a complete disaster, losing 10 games in a row (most of them by timeout). It was by that time that many people caught up to my score of 31, with @UglySwede and @LearningVariants both with 28. I paused for 5-10 minutes and joined back. It was also then that @Alan_54 who had 7 points in 19 games had a humongous streak which got him to 48 in 30 games. I had two streaks of 11 points, which was apparently enough to secure first place.
Full zerk for the Win!
When the tournament ended, my before looking at who placed at which place, my eyes just fell on this first:
I was completely surprised by this, considering that the time control had increment.
